After many years of traveling to other countries, here I am back in Paraguay, which I first visited in 1989 coming from Brazil, where I was living. I enjoyed discovering the calm, kind, and very gentle population. The events following the fall of President Alfredo Stroessner made me leave again, but living part of the year in Brazil, a neighboring country, I had the opportunity to return to this country often. Since 2024, I now live here permanently, and I am happy to share the culture and traditions of the Paraguayan people and to help others discover them through this site.
I now reside in Encarnación, nicknamed "The Pearl of the South." A true delight.
Encarnación is currently undergoing significant development in terms of infrastructure and tourism, but the city has kept its old-world charm. Gentle, calm, and pleasant to live in. It is located in the Itapúa department, which is home to the Jesuit ruins of Trinidad, Jesus of Tavarangué and San Cosme y Damián, this is a destination that I recommend to travelers coming to Paraguay..... See the page dedicated to Encarnacion.
